EASTPOINT, Fla. (WTXL) -- More charges could be filed against a Franklin County man accused of killing a sex offender with an ax handle.
Bobby Bullock, Jr. is due in court next month for arraignment on charges related to the death of Norman Williams. Bullock is currently charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office an initial autopsy was unable to determine an exact cause of death. Once that is found a Second Degree Murder charge could be filed.
Franklin County Sheriff's deputies were called out on May 10 to a home at 23 Washington Street in Eastpoint. Deputies say there were at least three people at the home; Norman Williams, Bobby Bullock, Jr., and a third man named David Holstein. Deputies say Holstein and Williams got into an argument over Williams having inappropriately touched a woman at the home. During the argument Bullock allegedly hit Williams from behind with an ax handle just below his left ear.
Unconscious, deputies say it was 30 minutes before anyone at the home called 911 for help. Arriving deputies attempted CPR, however their attempts were not successful.
According to the Apalachicola Times newspaper, Williams himself gained national media attention in September 2011 when he fled the woods outside Eastpoint after being released from prison. The newspaper reports because he was a sexual predator who had been shunned by his family, Williams had no place else he could legally go, so probation officers placed a GPS tracking device on his leg and told him to remain in the woods. He managed to break the device off and took off, later being found in Louisiana.
