(WTXL) Tallahassee, Fla.  - The Florida Department of Health will discuss regulations for medical marijuana in Florida.

The department's work is being closely monitored by growers, lawyers, and lobbyists, because of the potential business opportunities. The new law makes certain strains of marijuana legal including those low in the euphoria-inducing component THC.

The Aug. 1 meeting is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. at the Betty Easley Conference Center in Tallahassee.
