Pensacola, Fla. (WTXL) -- The Florida panhandle is among some of the hardest hit areas from the severe weather that's been rocking the south.

Flooding in Pensacola is becoming a huge issue because emergency crews are unable to get into parts of the city.

The city of Pensacola issued flash flood warnings last night but the water rose faster than expected. Rainwater is waist-deep in parts of the city and emergency workers are having to use boats to rescue people.

Thousands are without power and some of them are making their way to the police station, just to ride out the storm there.

In some neighborhoods, streets are flooded so badly, the water is climbing up mailboxes and people are kayaking over their own lawns.
