ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. (AP) — Deputies fatally shot a man they were trying to arrest for selling prescription pills outside a tire store in Zephyrhills.

Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco says 41-year-old Jerry Dwight Brown was shot Tuesday afternoon.

Few details were released about the shooting.

Nocco told The Tampa Tribune (http://bit.ly/1xfGdMG ) that Brown had a violent history and had been the subject of an ongoing prescription drug investigation. His arrest record includes a kidnapping charge and two armed robberies.
