Deputies fatally shoot burglary suspect

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man breaking into a Pensacola self-storage business was killed by deputies.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office reports that 49-year-old Paul Thayer was trying to enter the business Sunday night when he was confronted by two deputies. Witnesses say Thayer pulled a gun and fired at the deputies.

The deputies returned fire, killing Thayer. The Pensacola News Journal (http://on.pnj.com/127N11J ) reports that the shooting remains under investigation.
