FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. (AP) - Authorities are searching through missing persons reports after partial remains were found in a wooded area in north Florida.

Clay County Sheriff's officials say children walking home from a department store found the remains on Sunday. Officials say the body was decomposing.

The Florida Times-Union reports the area had recently been underwater but had recently dried out. The sheriff's office has not released information on the sex, age or cause of death of the person.
