Hearing dates have finally been set for the cases against former City of Homestead Mayor Steven C. Bateman.
After several continuances, both cases against Bateman have hearings scheduled.
In the first case that includes two felonies and three county ordinance charges, Bateman will attend a hearing on August 15, 2014.
Bateman’s misdemeanor charges will be heard on August 22, 2014.
Former Mayor Bateman was arrested in 2013 and was charged with unlawful compensation related to a paid consulting job, as well as unregistered lobbying.
Two months later, Bateman was charged with seven additional counts of spending his campaign contributions illegally during his 2011 re-election campaign.
Bateman had been under investigation for several months by the State Attorney’s office.
