CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL-As you are driving around Charlotte County, you may have noticed that some of the speed limit signs have changed on some local roads.

Or maybe you haven’t.

As of earlier this month, speed limits have been set or were changed on a total of 27 local streets in Charlotte County.  The new signage for these changes should already be in place, but you may not have noticed the change if you weren’t looking for them.

So, here is the list of roadways where there was a speed limit change.  In most cases, the speed limit was lowered, although there were a couple of locations where the speed limit was increased.

The Sheriff’s Office will be looking out for people violating the new speed limits, but, in the beginning, the goal is to help make people aware of the changes.  So make sure you pay attention to the speed limit signs as you travel.  They may be different than the last time you looked.
