VENICE - A large sinkhole has shut down a road in downtown Venice.

Police closed Nassau Street near West Venice Avenue on Sunday because of the hole in the road about two feet wide, eight feet long, and about three feet deep.

The hole exposed a gas line under the road.

The city expects Nassau Street to remain closed until Friday, January 4th.
