Sheriff: Man fired shotgun in possible road rage incident

**UPDATE 5/22**  The Sarasota Sheriff's Office reports they located the driver involved in this incident around 11pm Tuesday, and were interviewing the person.  The investigation continues.

NORTH PORT, Fla. - Authorities are on the scene investigating a possible road rage incident in which two people were injured by a shotgun blast Tuesday afternoon.

It happened shortly after 4pm along U.S. 41 in Sarasota County.  According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, two vehicles were southbound on 41 near El Prado Avenue, in the Warm Mineral Springs area, when the suspect pointed what was described as a shotgun at the victim's vehicle and fired a shot, blowing out the rear passenger-side window.

Both the driver and a passenger were struck by birdshot.  The victims and another witness attempted to follow the suspect, but the victims eventually stopped on Tuscola Boulevard, at the entrance to the Lowe's parking lot.

The suspect was described as a white male, 25-30 years old, driving a green Geo Tracker with a black top and black running boards.

The victims are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
