CHARLOTTE COUNTY - Detectives have suspended the search for a man who went missing nearly 30 years ago, due to bad weather.

On Thursday, dive crews found 26-year-old Terrance Beghin's Corvette submerged in a canal in the Deep Creek area, near the eastern end of Rampart Boulevard at Navigator Road. There was no sign of Beghin inside the car.

He went missing back in 1986 while on his way to pick up his roommate. Detectives believe foul play could have played a role in his disappearance.

Detectives hoped to continue the search on Monday, but called off the search due to rains. They still plan to try searching the area of the opposite bank when weather improves.
