VENICE, Fla. - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is informing the public that 22-year-old Matthew Tarket has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.

Tarket was arrested in 2010 and convicted of Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a victim between 12 and 15 years of age. He was sentenced to three years in prison and will be on Department of Corrections probation for three years.

Tarket is now living at 2010 Faun Road in Venice.

This information is also being posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office web site and the agency’s Facebook page as part of a new initiative to more publicly notify citizens of sex offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County Address for the first time.

Authorities still recommend that citizens sign up for sex offender alerts from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to receive regular notifications of routine registrations and address changes,
