CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Authorities served a search warrant at a Port Charlotte home Thursday morning and arrested a man on numerous child pornography charges.

52-year-old Christopher Colangelo was arrested in his Harborview Road home after members of the FBI’s task force along with members of the Sheriff’s Office’s Street Crime Unit, Computer Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit executed a search warrant at 6:30am.

The investigation began last month after the Sheriff’s Office received information through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) concerning possible child pornography images that had been posted to an Internet site originating out of the Charlotte County area.

During Thursday's search, investigators located several instances of suspected child pornography. Three of the images located were confirmed as child pornography images and matched with images allegedly posted by Colangelo to the Internet site.

Colangelo was arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail on three counts of Possession of Child Pornography and three counts of Distribution of Child Pornography. He is being held on a total 15,000 bond.

Colangelo’s computer was seized as part of the search for further forensic analysis.
