OSPREY, Fla. - A Suncoast school was given some national attention Monday morning. Pine View School was awarded the Guinness World Record in ‘most sandwiches made within an hour’.

Last May, 600 students took part in making more than 5,000 sandwiches. All of them were then donated to the Salvation Army and other food banks.

The Pine View Interact club decided to break the record by making soy-based peanut butter and jelly sandwiches after they learned about the rise of peanut allergies in children in the United States.

They were officially given the award Monday morning. Congratulations to them.
