CHARLOTTE COUNTY - A Charlotte County man arrested for running a grow house will likely face animal cruelty charges as well.

On April 23, Charlotte County Sheriff’s detectives responded to call of animal cruelty at Pablo Cauz's home on the 32000 block of Oil Well Road.

When they got there they found a marijuana grow house inside. They also found that Cauz was keeping baby alligators inside a bath tub. Now, investigators say they have recovered close to 90 animals from his property, and most are malnourished.

Eight of the animals had to be euthanized. The animals included pigs, goats, chickens and a horse.

Cauz faces drug charges, and animal cruelty charges are expected to be filed.
