One person dead in Englewood house fire

ENGLEWOOD, FL. – One person is dead after an Englewood home catches fire.

It happened Thursday just after 6am at the 1400 block of Virginia Lane.

Fire crews arrived on scene and extinguished the blaze.

A woman in the home died as a result of the fire. Two others were taken to an Englewood hospital for smoke inhalation. Their identities have not yet been released.

Crews had to block off roadways around the home while they brought in a tanker truck to help.

The State Fire Marshall was called to the scene to help determine the cause. The Red Cross was also called in to help those left homeless from the fire.
