CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - The remains of a person believed to be a missing Spring Hill man have been found south of Punta Gorda.

23-year-old Danny Mordenti of Spring Hill went missing from his grandmother's Punta Gorda home on Jolly Roger Boulevard in May 2008.  Mordenti had recently been arrested and was awaiting a meeting with a probation officer.  A search for him was unsuccessful and he was entered into a state and national database as a missing endangered adult.

Last Friday, new owners of a residence on the same street were clearing brush from a lot when they discovered a wallet, human remains, and a rope hanging from a tree.  They contacted the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.

Positive identification of the skeletal remains is pending the results of the Medical Examiner’s Office investigation.
