VENICE - Fire officials are working to determine how a home in Venice caught on fire Sunday night.

Several people called 911 around 6:30 pm when they noticed the home on Laurel Avenue burning.

Sheriff's deputies blocked off roads around the home to keep people away as crews on three fire trucks put the fire out.

A firefighter says no one suffered injuries but the house suffered heavy damage.

The State Fire Marshall will investigate the cause.
