ENGLEWOOD, FL. - A 5-year-old Englewood boy has donated $50 to the Shop with a Cop event.

Every year, thanks to the generous donations of many organizations, businesses and individuals, area children are able to go Christmas shopping at local Wal-Mart stores accompanied by Sheriff’s deputies, police officers and other law enforcement officials.

This year, as with most years, additional donations are made by shoppers who notice what is going on and want to help.

On Wednesday, at the Shop with a Cop event at the Englewood Wal-Mart, 5-year-old Louis Gemma made a special trip to make a donation. Louis had saved his money throughout the year to be able to give $50 to the Shop with a Cop program so that some other boy or girl could get a present.

Louis received a Sheriff’s Office Community Challenge Coin from Chief Deputy Bill Prummell.
