Driver seriously injured in single-vehicle crash on I-75

NORTH PORT - A Palm Harbor man was seriously injured Monday after losing control of his sports car on Interstate 75.

It happened near North Port around mile marker 189, between the River Road and Sumter Boulevard exits, just before 4pm.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Johnathan Roberson lost control of his Trans Am while heading north on the interstate. That's when started sliding in the wooded median and slammed into a tree.

Roberson was flown to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton for treatment.
