Deputies search for Port Charlotte bank robber

PORT CHARLOTTE - Authorities are searching for a man they say robbed a C1 Bank in Port Charlotte Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, a man entered the C1 Bank at 1950 Tamiami Trail, just south of Cochran Boulevard, at 12:27pm Monday.  He robbed the bank then fled.

He is described as a white male in his 30’s, thin build, dark short receding hair, a two-day beard growth, wearing blue jeans and a grey long sleeve tee-shirt with a pink and blue logo on the front of the tee shirt.

CCSO detectives and deputies responded to the call and immediately set up a perimeter. A K9 unit and the helicopter were called out to search for the robber. The search continues.
