Chicken roosts voted down in North Port

NORTH PORT - There will be no roosting in North Port. A city commission vote to allow homeowners to own up to four egg-laying hens ended in a deadlock.

According to our coverage partners at the Sun Herald, two of the commissioners voiced concerns over how the chickens would hurt water quality and cause zoning problems.
