CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL. - A Charlotte County woman is accused of leaving 10 cats and dogs in cages on a rural farm for over a month without enough food or clean water .

Cleo Fiore, was charged this week with 10 counts of Animal Cruelty and 10 counts of Animal Abandonment from an animal rescue operation last October.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, she allegedly locked 8 cats and 2 dogs in small crates on a relative's vacant property, and would only go to feed them every 3 to 4 days.

An anonymous phone call led Animal Control to the farm in southern Charlotte County.

Two of the cats had to be put down. The other animals were taken to rescue shelters.
