**UPDATE** An electrical malfunction at 11am caused the bridge to remain stuck open.  Crews had to manually hand crank the bridge closed to repair it.

As of 12pm, the bridge was open and fully functional.

NOKOMIS - A traffic warning if you're heading out to Casey Key; right now the Blackburn Point Bridge is osprey is stuck open.

The Army Corps of Engineers have been called and are working on the problem right now, but traffic is backed up to and from the key, so you'll want to avoid that area for now.

We'll keep you posted as to when the bridge is working again.

why don't we forget the rustic look. the novelty, and all...and just replace this "we are stuck in the 18th century" bridge with a nice bridge that ems, fire trucks and most of the modern world vehicles can cross...
