PARRISH, FL- A sleepy 14 year old teen is being blamed for a two car crash that results in five injuries.

It happened Sunday evening near the intersection of County Road 675 and 136th Terrace East in Parrish.  According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 14 year old teen was driving a F-150 pickup truck westbound on CR-675 when he fell asleep and veered into oncoming traffic.

The truck hit a car headed eastbound causing both vehicles to veer off the road.  The driver of the car had to be taken to Blake Medical Center in serious condition.  Four other passengers in both vehicles all sustained minor injuries.

The truck's owner was cited by FHP for driving without a license, and permitting an unauthorized minor to drive.
