SARASOTA, FL- After weeks of anticipation, the infamous Corpse Plant at Selby Gardens has gone into full bloom.

Audrey, the name of the plant, went into bloom late Monday night.  Last week, "Seymour", a larger Corpse Plant also went into full bloom.  According to Selby Gardens officials, two plants in bloom at once hasn't happened since 1999.

Caretakers are now pollinating "Audrey" with "Seymours" pollen to produce seeds.  The Corpse Plant got its name because of the strong odor it releases when it blooms. Many compare the smell to that of rotting flesh.
