SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - A Sarasota man accused of murdering two well known members of the Newtown community was found guilty on all counts.

In June of 2015, Ronald Howard was accused of shooting and killing two longtime neighbors of his on 33rd street in Sarasota.

Sarasota police officers at the time responded to the single family residence where 65-year old Johnny Campbell and 83-year old Carlos Suarez, Jr had been shot.

One victim died at the residence while the other died after being taken to the hospital.

According to police, the victims and the suspect had known each other for some time.

Witnesses told officers, Howard and the victims had a dispute earlier that day.

But following the dispute, Howard made statements to witnesses that he wanted to apologize to the victims.
