SARASOTA, Fla. -- An arrest has been made this week in response to an aggravated assault that occurred on a Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) bus earlier this month.

Albert Junior Singletary, a Sarasota resident, has been charged with felony aggravated assault after he intentionally and unlawfully threatened by word or act, to do violence to the victim.

The victim told detectives she was riding a SCAT bus to work when Singletary sat near her, and attempted to engage her in conversation, though she ignored him. She reported that he then asked for her phone number and she refused to give it.

Singletary got up from his seat, revealed a box-cutter knife, and brandished the knife. The victim then exited the bus.
