SARASOTA, Fla. -- Sarasota County is getting closer to working out a deal to take over Little Salt Springs.

The 112-acre property is located off Price Boulevard in North Port.  Scientists say the site carries tremendous ecological significance.  Currently the property is owned by the University of Miami.

It has offered to donate the spring to the county's Environmentally Sensitive Land Acquisition Program.
