MANATEE/SARASOTA COUNTIES, FL (WWSB) - Three charter schools on the Suncoast are facing state penalties for their financial record.
According to an audit report from the 2017 school year, Manatee County School for the Arts and Sciences was found to have a weakness in maintaining their financial record.
The Student Leadership Academy in Venice and Rowlett Academy of Arts in Bradenton were both in non-compliance with government auditing standards. Most of the schools have reportedly fixed their financial issues.
The report states 14 percent of the 629 charter schools audited in Florida had problems with their financial record.
