TAMPA, FL -- A Hillsborough County man is dead after the single engine airplane he was piloting crashed in Tampa.

Authorities have identified the pilot as 54-year-old Ki L. Martin, from Wimauma, Florida. Martin was reportedly taking off from Tampa Executive Airport in a single engine plane around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Shortly after getting airborne on takeoff, the plane went down and crashed for reasons that are unknown at this time. Emergency personnel found Martin dead inside the plane.
