NORTH PORT, FL (WWSB) - The City of North Port today announced its new Chief of Police. City Manager Peter Lear says Todd Garrison has accepted the position, and will now go through the required background check and physical. Garrison would likely start his service in about 30 days.
Garrison is currently a Captain/District Commander with the Lee County Sheriff's Office, where he has served since 1994. He is a third generation law enforcement officer, with his family's service dating back to 1925.
Garrison has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Hodges University, and is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Garrison's annual salary will be set at $125,000.
