NORTH PORT, Fla. --  A North Port woman who attempted to hire an undercover officer to kill her husband and a former employee will spend the rest of her life in prison.

In a Sarasota court room on Tuesday, a judge sentenced Janeene Jones to Life. Last year Jones was charged with Solicitation to Commit Murder.  She plead no contest to the charges last month.  According to prosecutors, Jones sought out a person to kill a former employee who threatened to expose a rental scam in which she was involved.

She also reportedly tried to plan a hit on her husband, whom she had a million dollar life insurance police on.  The hitman she attempted to hire ended up being an undercover detective.  She was arrested and charged.
