NORTH PORT, FL- The city of North Port's George Mullen Activity Center and playground will be closed this week for improvements.

The facility closed on Monday and will reopen on Thursday after the city adds new shade structures to the outside area.  Over the next 8 to ten weeks the city will be adding similar shade structures to other parks, like Mckibben Park and The Morgan Family Community Center.
