SARASOTA, Fla.--For the first time in 23 years and only the second time in history, the World Rowing Championships will be hosted on U.S. soil.

"What the superbowl is to football, what the World Cup is to soccer, what the World Series is to baseball, this is the marquee regatta," said Media and Public Relations Manager, Max Winitz.

In less than 2 months, it’s all eyes on the Suncoast’s Nathan Benderson Park as it plays host to  40,000 spectators and 1,700 athletes from more than 70 countries for the 2017 World Rowing Championships.
