Woman escapes armed carjacking attempt at traffic light

MANATEE COUNTY - A woman escaped from an attempted carjacking while sitting at a traffic light.

Manatee County Sheriff's Deputies say the attempted carjacking happened just before 9 pm Sunday at U.S. 301 and 30th Avenue East.

The woman was stopped at a red light, when the men walked up to her vehicle with guns pointed at her. They tried to open her car door, but she hit the gas and got away.
