BRADENTON, Fla. - A Bradenton native who went on to play football for Florida State and in the NFL has died.  Todd Williams was found dead Monday at the Sarasota Suites Hotel on North Tamiami Trail  just hours before his alma mater won a national championship.

On Friday, the 35-year-old Williams complained to his mother of feeling sick.  According to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report, Williams told an employee at the hotel that he had gone to the hospital after throwing up all night.  Around 5pm that day the employee checked on him and found him sleeping on the bed in his room.

After three days of not seeing or hearing from Williams, hotel staff entered his room to find him deceased in the same position on the bed.

The sheriff's office says they haven't found any sign of foul play, but an autopsy will be performed.

Williams played offensive tackle, becoming one of the state's top prospects after his senior season at Southeast High School.  He was a redshirt freshman on the Seminoles' 1999 National Championship team.  Williams was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 2003 NFL Draft, going on to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Green Bay Packers.
