BRADENTON - State troopers say a red light runner caused a two-car crash that sent four people to the trauma center with serious injuries.

It happened just after 3:30am Sunday on U.S. 301 at 38th Avenue East.

Troopers say a car headed northbound on 301 ignored a red light and slammed into the right side of a pickup truck that was crossing the intersection on green, throwing the two passengers out of the truck.

The driver of the car also suffered serious injuries.

None of them had their seat belts on.

The driver of the car was cited for failing to stop for the red light.
