MANATEE COUNTY - Downpours Monday evening were most likely to blame for a semi-truck crash on Interstate-75.
It happened in Manatee County on what's known as the Salt Marsh Bridge near mile marker 223 – about halfway between the State Road 64 exit and the Manatee River Bridge.
Troopers say the double-trailer truck was headed northbound a little after 8pm when the truck hydroplaned and the driver lost control, slamming into a guardrail and sending the cab over that railing.
Troopers shut down the center and right northbound lanes for over two hours, and have since re-opened them.
The truck driver suffered only minor injuries.
Crews are surveying the damage to the bridge.
