MANATEE COUNTY - Palmetto Police say they have a suspect in a shooting that led a Bradenton hospital to go on lockdown over the weekend.

Police announced Monday that arrest warrants have been issued for 21-year-old Norman Castro of Bradenton. He will be charged with two counts of Attempted Murder.

According to police, a man walked into Manatee Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his right shoulder. He said someone shot him near the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto.

Police warned that the shooting was gang-related, and the hospital went on lockdown due to talks of a retaliation shooting. That did not happen.

The hospital reopened about an hour later.

Persons with information about where Norman Castro is are asked to contact the Palmetto Police Department at 941-721-2000 or the Manatee County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-634-8477. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
