BRADENTON, FL - Police say a Southeast High School football player who was loitering at a community center was taken into custody on a gun charge.

18-year-old Frank Brice is a running back on the Southeast Seminoles football team. He had been confronted by Bradenton police officers at the 13th Avenue Dream Center in July.

They say Brice fled on foot after being asked to get out of the vehicle he was sitting in. Police say they then found a loaded handgun in the car he had been sitting in.

Brice, who has a felony record, was arrested on the gun charge this week by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, and remains in jail.

ABC 7 Reporter Bobeth Yates will bring you more on the story.
