BRADENTON, FL. - Detectives are investigating the recent theft of a rare violin.

The owner of the violin reported the instrument missing on January 18 from her residence in the 3900 block of 75th St. W., Bradenton,

The victim last used her violin on January 15. There was no sign of forced entry at her residence and nothing else appears to be missing. It is possible the violin was stolen from the victim’s vehicle.

The violin is a German Gabriel David Buchstetter and was crafted in 1770. The varnish on the violin is dark reddish brown and is colored over a yellow base. The bow has silver trimmings and mother of pearl eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the violin is asked to call MSO at 941-747-3011, ext. 2594 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
