Police: Man robs elderly woman at knifepoint in Wal-Mart parking lot

BRADENTON, FL. - Authorities are looking for a suspect who they say threatened to kill an elderly woman if she didn’t give up her purse.

On Wednesday around 8:30 p.m., the victim, and 82-year-old woman, was loading her groceries into her vehicle in the parking lot of Wal-Mart at 5315 Cortez Road West, when an unknown black male suspect threatened her with a knife and stated, “Give me your purse, or I’ll kill you.”

The victim gave the suspect her purse, and the suspect ran to an awaiting vehicle, which immediately fled the area in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a black male, 21–30 years of age, short in stature (5’ to 5’5”), 135–150 pounds, wearing a purple shirt (unknown white lettering), black shorts (red stripe down the sides), black shoes. The vehicle was described as a white, unknown make/model, 4-door sedan.
