Police: Man injured by gunfire in Bradenton

BRADENTON, Fla. - A man is recovering from injuries sustained in a shooting in Bradenton on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened around 4:30pm Tuesday in the area of the intersection of 1st Street East and 26th Avenue.

According to Bradenton Police, the brother of 24-year-old Breon Cheaves says he dropped Breon off at a residence off 26th Avenue East.  As he drove off, he heard gunshots and turned to see Breon lying on the ground.

The man drove his brother to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police say no one could provide details of the shooting.
