BRADENTON, FL. - The State Attorney's Office is trying to decide whether or not criminal charges will be filed against a popular Manatee High School assistant football coach.

Bradenton Police are recommending charges after investigating allegations against Rod Frazier. Frazier is accused of improper contact with a former student. The allegations included claims of groping and inappropriate text messages.

There are also several other manatee county school employees that could face charges over the way the allegations were handled.

Most students at Manatee High School say they've heard about the allegations, but they simply don't believe them.

“He's humble, he'll tell you the right things to do, you can ask him for advice, he's a great guy. I wouldn't think he'd do something like that,” says nelson.

“I've heard that he has done not nice things, but I haven't heard anything else,” says Maggi Patterson.

Frazier is currently suspended from his duties as a coach and parent liaison at Manatee High.

The Manatee County School District released a statement saying the district's highest priority is the safety and security of students and employees. It goes on to say it's also committed to treating employees fairly and without judgment until a final outcome and only the State Attorney's Office can make that determination. With that said, it's reserving final judgment until all facts are revealed and at that time, it will take appropriate action.
