BRADENTON - Manatee County Deputies have developed a person of interest in a weekend shooting in which a 4-year-old boy was shot while in his house.

The shooting happened at the 2600 block of 36th Avenue West in Bradenton around 11am Saturday.

According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies now believe that shots were fired from one vehicle towards another, and one of the rounds happened to enter the home where the boy lives, striking a young boy in the head.

He was airlifted to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg. He remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Monday afternoon, authorities identified 20-year-old Horatio Papillion as a person of interest in the shooting, and believe he may have been in the vehicle that the gunfire came from.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
