Pedestrial struck and killed crossing U.S. 301 in Ellenton

MANATEE COUNTY - A Bradenton man died Monday morning as he attempted to cross U.S. 301.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 59-year-old King Earley was attempting to cross U.S. 301 around 6:30am near Franklin Avenue, in a section without any street lights or a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a pickup truck headed westbound on 301.

Earley was taken to Blake Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed.
