PARRISH, FL. - A Parrish couple whose home was raided back in February for growing marijuana has filed a lawsuit against the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

According to court documents, Cathy and Robert Jordan want an injunction preventing the sheriff's office from raiding their home again and confiscating their marijuana.

The couple says that Cathy uses the drug to ease her medical issues caused by Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Last February following a tip, the sheriff's office confiscated nearly 2-dozen marijuana plants from the couple’s home.

The State Attorney's Office decided not to file charges against the couple.

The police should leave these people alone if they are using pot as a medicine for this poor womans "quality of life."
