MANATEE COUNTY – In an update on a motor scooter crash in Bradenton that sent the rider sliding more than 100 feet last week, state troopers now say the man has died.

The crash happened Wednesday near the intersection of Cortez Road and 37th Street West. Troopers say 23-year-old Aaron Hill of Palmetto was weaving on his scooter back and forth in the left travel lane when he crashed into the side of a car in the left turn lane and fell over. An FHP report says Hill slid 135 feet before coming to a stop.

Hill was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment, but later died from his injuries.

No charges have been filed in the case.
