Palmetto bank robbery suspect identified, urged to turn himself in

MANATEE COUNTY - Palmetto Police investigators, acting on tips from the public, have identified the man who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank Monday.

He is 47-year-old Earnest Aldean Griffin of Palmetto.

Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Mr. Griffin and are actively searching for him.

Mr. Griffin is urged to turn himself in to the Palmetto Police Department.

Officers say it happened just after 5pm at the bank located on 7th Street West at 5th Avenue West.

Police say the suspect entered the bank and handed a bank employee a note indicating the robbery. No weapon was seen.
